As India-Taiwan relations progress, the trade body is promoting large-scale platforms in India this year
TAITRA will announce this year’s edition of COMPUTEX, SMART ASIA India and TAIWAN EXCELLENCE on March 6 2018 at the Hotel Lalit in Delhi. Mr. James Kuo, Deputy Executive Director of the Exhibition Department at TAITRA will inaugurate the conference, alongside Mr. Champak Raj Gurjar, President of the Federation of India’s IT. The conference will also gather COMPUTEX, SMART ASIA India & TAIWAN EXCELLENCE representatives.
In sync with global ICT trends, COMPUTEX, a world leading ICT, AIoT & Startups trade show, has repositioned itself and has been highlighting “Building Global Technology Ecosystems” since 2016. The main theme of COMPUTEX 2018 will focus on AI, IoT Applications, 5G, Blockchain, Innovations & Startups, and Gaming & VR. To echo these main themes, COMPUTEX 2018 will highlighted two exhibiting areas: “SmarTEX“ – showcasing the latest IoT applications, and “InnoVEX” – a matchmaking platform for global startups to meet global investors and manufacturing partners.
Taiwan continues to play an important role in the global ICT supply chain and AIoT ecosystems. Based on a solid foundation of OEM/ODM business and R&D abilities, Taiwan’s ICT industry has more recently been transforming from internet computing and hardware manufacturing into becoming an AIoT solution provider. Several multinational tech giants like Nvidia, Intel, ARM, Microsoft and Siemens have teamed up with Taiwanese partners to develop the AIoT applications in different vertical sectors.
Expected to receive over 1,600 exhibitors from India and abroad, COMPUTEX 2018 is set to mark a more substantial benchmark with an estimated 40,000 international visitors, who will explore more than 5,000 booths for the latest products and technologies. COMPUTEX is a one-stop-shop offering every whim of ICT professionals, and more. The event will serve to build strategic alliances and ecosystem partnerships for ICT companies and bridge global startups with investors and manufacturers. India ranks #10th in number of international visitors at COMPUTEX 2017. Compared with last year, the number of Indian visitors grows by 20.86%. This growth is impressive, and we learn that COMPUTEX is exactly the perfect show of the year for Taiwanese and Indian ICT players to create business and sourcing for potential partners.
With its first edition last year, SMART ASIA India is a trade show which showcases Taiwan’s cutting-edge smart technologies and products to a broad Indian audience. The event will return this year in Bangalore with a focus on Smart City Solutions, Smart Technology Applications, and City Development Products & Services. SMART ASIA India echoes the Modi government’s ‘Smart Cities Mission’, which aims to build 100 Smart Cities across India by 2022. The trade show will act as a platform to connect Taiwan’s expertise and India’s opportunities to build intelligent, robust and efficient smart cities.
SMART ASIA 2017 partnered with trade bodies such as AIAI, AIEMA, and WTC Bangalore, facilitating an outstanding response from approximately 1400 professional visitors from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. During the event, 50 world-class Taiwanese exhibitors presented innovative products and services in the fields of Smart Transportation, Smart Energy, Smart Water and IoT solutions. Following its resounding success, SMART ASIA India 2018 is anticipating to be larger in scale and will take place from October 4-6 2018, at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
