Tech Trends to look forward to in 2018

Best Tech Trends in 2018 : Technology is the hopeful reality for a better future.

A man has come far in his journey of discovery, what began with discovering fire has reached sending cars into space. With minds like Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking at work, it is only expected that technology is going to propel towards innovation faster than before. This means we can have all the developed technology and robotics at our fingertips that once movies like star wars, Terminator, The Matrix or Transformers talked about! This is the wishful thinking of man materializing into the future.

On a side note, the admissions for best engineering colleges in Pune are open, students can find the important information on the official website.

These are the tech trends of 2018 that we need to look forward to:

  1. Artificial Intelligence – Best Tech Trends in 2018

AI, although still in its baby stages, has a bright future ahead. AI is supposedly the upcoming hierarchy and everyone wants a piece of it! Countries like Russia, US and China are running the race to win the AI throne.

Basically, AI is an attempt to replicate human intelligence in a machine. So this allows AI to pick up and replicate tasks that we normally do. AI can mimic facial expressions, have conversations over Chabot platforms and recently AI also found out a new solar system with the Kepler space telescope!

So we have a bright future ahead of us with AI development.

On a slight detour, interested students- joSSA 2018 registration can be down online.

AI will soon birth automated cars, which has been a project under construction for Google since 2012.

Apart from the awesome cars we look forward to not driving, what you can expect from AI is a friendly presence. Much like the robotic help in Star Wars- C-3PO, BB-8, R2–D2, imagine having a robot best friend to get you through tough times! Does anyone remember the Japan robot Pepper that was programmed to read your emotions, develop its own emotions and make you happy? Well, you can expect something on the same lines.

You can also look forward to AI being of help to the elderly. With AI robots seniors can take be taken care without any human supervision.

Another cool development you look forward to is the AI cyborg. With time we expect humans to augment their self with computers and have access to unlimited information and abilities that an AI can perform.

On a different note, useful and less sci-fi movie inspired advantage would be dealing with climate change. Microsoft and the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics already use an AI-based sowing app that would help about 4,00 farmers during Kharif season.

So these developments also mean that AI would soon perform the mundane and menial tasks man does with more efficiency and for a lower price, meaning it will take over our jobs (the targeted group being white collar job). But for now, let’s celebrate these accomplishments with optimism. We are looking forward to smarter tech solutions and smarter cities with progress in AI development

  1. Augmented Reality – Best Tech Trends in 2018

Augmented Reality , the better half of virtual reality is the exciting tech trend we all are excited for, especially that not it is available on our mobile phones. BBC just launched its first augmented reality app.Google Chunduri talks about an “immersive experience” that augmented reality brings together. He says, “There’s going to be some great content coming up in this space. If you have a compelling creative vision, access to talent, IP and distribution, we (Google) can help in terms of hardware and software.”

  1. 3-D printers – Best Tech Trends in 2018

3-D printers can be used for more than plastic now. In 2014 a group of plastic surgeons at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) in Puducherry restored the deformed skull of a 3-year-old with the help of 3-D printers.

Amongst other things, the tech trends to look forward to in 2018 are lighter and thinner LED’s (thin as a strand of hair), wireless chargers (because only gravity pulls us down on earth!), and advanced facial recognition software (yes, better than the iPhone X face lock). The age of Tech is surely an experience to live through.
